This song was written during the closing ceremony of my most recent journey with Ayahuasca, the Grandmother medicine.
We were each sharing our experiences the morning after and I was still feeling the psychedelic effects of the medicine.
My friend Nailia was sitting next to me, and shared her experience: I started to get anxiety and was thinking about the future, when Grandmother came to me and said: "Stay where you are child, you're a child of the light."
I wrote those words down in my journal and the rest of the song channeled through.
When I returned home to my son I sang him to sleep by sharing this song, and the last lines came through as he peacefully slept: "Sleep child, sleep child, dream your sweet dreams. Dream your dream alive, and set yourself free."
